Meloni wins the Meeting: "It's an honor to be with you." Then, a visit to San Patrignano.

Rimini, August 27, 2025 – A fifty-minute speech . And she easily passed the applause-o-meter test, complete with a standing ovation. After three years, Giorgia Meloni has reunited with the people of the Meeting . In 2022, she began her journey from Rimini to Palazzo Chigi. This time, the Communion and Liberation event is the stage from which to chart the course the government will follow in the coming months. Her first appearance as Prime Minister is punctuated by long, sustained applause from an audience that has become hers. She even has a surprise, announced right on stage: a private visit to the San Patrignano community , which she will visit immediately after her speech at the Meeting.

Meloni arrived at the Fair around 11:50 a.m., preceded by several representatives—both national and local—of the Brothers of Italy party. She was welcomed by Bernhard Scholz , president of the Meeting Foundation, director Emmanuele Forlani , Mayor Jamil Sadegholvaad , and Prefect Giuseppina Cassone . The Prime Minister exited the car, and the first applause broke out. Meloni smiled. "Welcome to Rimini," Mayor Sadegholvaad told her. There was also a little skit : waiting for her among the crowd of volunteers and onlookers was Alessio Stigliano, the face of the YouTube channel The Show, with a copy of the autobiography "I am Giorgia" (and two melons that were immediately confiscated by the DIGOS). Despite the intervention of security, the YouTuber still managed to get the book autographed by the Prime Minister , who entered the fair to applause. The same tributes the Communion and Liberation supporters paid to her in the auditorium when Scholz called her to the stage. Meloni was moved. "For almost half a century," she said, "the Meeting has marked a pivotal moment in political debate. It's an honor for me to be here ." In Rimini, the prime minister listed the challenges facing the executive: foreign policy, reforms, justice, and measures for families.
Her lengthy speech, which concluded after fifty minutes, began with foreign policy . The Prime Minister did not visit the pavilions, only taking a few photos before leaving the Fair immediately after her speech.

Heading to San Patrignano . “Drugs are disgusting,” says the Prime Minister from the stage at the Meeting. About twenty minutes later, Meloni reaches the community for a private visit . The day before, Roberta Metsola , President of the European Parliament, had visited San Patrignano. “This isn’t the first time I’ve visited San Patrignano,” Meloni says. “It’s an organization that can always count on the Italian government.” The Prime Minister stops to speak with the young people of the community. “You applauded me, but I’m the one who has to applaud you. You are people who stumbled and got back on your feet, and when you leave here, you will have something to teach others.” And again, “ It takes great strength, great courage, great humanity to undertake the journey you are taking . Know that I am someone who has something to learn from you. Good luck for your future.”
After a farewell , they left San Patrignano and Rimini and returned to Rome, where a cabinet meeting is scheduled for tomorrow. This was an opportunity to meet Matteo Salvini , since the Prime Minister and the Minister of Infrastructure did not meet at the Fair. Arriving around 1:30 pm with MP Jacopo Morrone, Salvini toured the pavilions before attending two conferences. The Minister for Disabilities, Alessandra Locatelli, also attended the meeting today.
